How Changes to Gmail Affect Your Email
May 2013 - Google made changes to Gmail that affect where emails get delivered in your customer's inbox. So, if a customer contacts you wondering why they haven't received your weekly/monthly email, you can share the following information with them.
In the attempt to declutter Gmail users' inbox, Google created additional tabs. One for:
  • promotions
  • social media updates
  • bills and receipts
  • forums
  • all other email go into the users primary inbox
This change has resulted in Customer Connect emails being delivered to Gmail's Promotion tab. Share this information with your customers so they begin looking for your emails under the Promotions tab or if they are interested they can turn off the new tab structure and have all emails go into the primary inbox by following the steps provided by Google.
