If you haven't yet heard, Glen Ellyn is celebrating all things FRIDA KAHLO this summer. The famed Mexican artist will be on display at McAninch Arts Center at the College of DuPage in one of the largest private collections of original artwork displayed in the Chicago area in over 40 years!
The exhibition, Frida Kahlo: Timeless, will be on view June 5 – September 6, 2021. To honor her amazing contributions in furthering Mexican art and culture, the city of Glen Ellyn will feature events and experiences throughout the summer, including Frida inspired cooking classes at Marcel's and Frida Sangria at Marché – an infusion of red wine with Reposado Tequila, Orange Liqueur and a twist of citrus.  Maison, our in-home/off-site chef and event service, is looking for a few excellent chefs to expand our culinary team. Maison is part of the Marcel’s Culinary family of businesses, offering memorable private event experiences throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Events range from intimate dinner service for 8, cocktail parties for 100, to engagement parties and weddings. Along with the hands-on execution of an event, you will be responsible for direct client contact, personal menu development and event detail planning, costing and budget management, and event staff management.
CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS:
- A culinary school degree
- Direct experience with private event planning, execution, and on-site food preparation and delivery
- Excellent communication skills and client interface experience
- Ability to manage front of house staff
This is a part-time, contract labor position and requires flexible evening, weekend and holiday availability. The selection process will require a live cooking demonstration.
