 July is finally here and summer is in full swing, with 4th of July festivities around town and more exciting events happening all month long in the store. Be sure you don't miss out - read about all of our fun activities and events below.
Jazz Up Glen Ellyn is back with live music and outdoor frolicking. This is sure to be an event you won't want to miss! The following weekend, join us again out on the street and sidewalk for the annual Glen Ellyn Sidewalk Sale with four days of deals, deals, and more deals. Then, we round out the month with our Meet Me at Marcel's: Neighborhood Happy Hour. It's a time to gather, catch up with friends and cool off with a frozen treat or two.
Our kitchen is busy with fun classes all month long. With some demonstration classes designed to be short, sweet and filled with delicious chef-made dinners to an afternoon of frozen delights with our special guest chef, these classes bring good food while teaching some new techniques.

Join the 4th of July festivities happening all around town!
 Freedom 4 mile run (8:00 am at Glenbard West Football Field) - This star-spangled run starts off on Lenox Road next to Lake Ellyn at 7:30 am on Thursday, July 4th. Register early and score a A Freedom Four™ t-shirt (while supplies last). Open to individuals ages 5 and up. Click here to register.
4th of July Parade (12:00 pm Downtown Glen Ellyn) - Celebrate our country's independence by coming out to watch the parade and enjoy the music, floats, or nostalgia of the red, white and blue. For details on the parade route, click here.
Lake Ellyn Festivities (1:00 - 4:00 pm at Lake Ellyn Park) - Looking for the perfect family activity after the parade? Purchase a $3 wristband at Lake Ellyn Park and enjoy all the action. Festivities include: moonwalks, inflatable obstacle course, eight penny carnival games with prizes, live music, dancing, and face painting. Concessions will be available for purchase.
4th of July Fireworks (dusk at Lake Ellyn) - Grab your blanket, sit back and watch as the night sky illuminates above! The Glen Ellyn Forth of July Committee is offering reserved "Boomer Booster Seats" on the Lake Ellyn boathouse dock. Click here for more information.

Jazz Up Glen Ellyn is presented by the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn and the Village of Glen Ellyn on Saturday, July 13th. This annual event is a summertime highlight. Grab some friends, chairs, a picnic basket, bottles of your favorite beverages, and enjoy the music of the night.
This FREE event features:
- Multiple Jazz acts playing continuously from 2 - 9:30 pm
- A festive atmosphere where you can bring in your own picnic (including adult beverages!), sit in the chairs provided or bring your own
- Want to get a beer or glass of wine from one of the establishments on the block (Main St between Penn and Crescent)? You can do that and bring it outside on the street! Can we recommend the outstanding selection at Marché?!
- Select Jazz ensembles will be playing in local restaurants after hours and several will be offering clinics during the day
