A new Service Pack for CounterPoint SQL Version 8.4 is now available from the Support area of the website at http://www.counterpointpos.com/support/software-cpsql.htm. Please note the following changes beginning with CounterPoint SQL Version 8.4:
Service Pack version numbers:
The Service Pack version number may include a fourth digit (e.g., V8.4.2.1), which indicates a minor Service Pack. Minor Service Packs include hot fixes and other specific corrections. Unlike planned Service Packs, which may include new features and enhancements, minor Service Packs are released as needed to address critical issues. Regard- less of whether a Service Pack is minor or planned, the process for installing the Service Pack is the same.
New installation instructions for service packs:
For a Server Download the current Service Pack (cpsp84.exe.zip) to your server's local drive, unzip it, and then double-click the cpsp84.exe file to install the latest updates and enhancements.
For Never Offline and Sometimes Offline workstations The updates will be automatically applied to the next time you start CounterPoint SQL in online mode.
For an Always Offline workstation,Download the current Service Pack (cpsp84.exe.zip) to the workstation's local drive, unzip it, and then double-click the cpsp84.exe file to install the Service Pack on the workstation.

Steps to correct:
1. Open a SQL Scripting tool such as the SQL Script Utility or the SQL Server Management Studio. 2. Select to Open a file and browse to the CounterPoint\Scripts directory
a. For users who have upgraded to 8.4.x and converted part or all their history, select the script named:
- WIT28339-IdentifyBadData.sql and execute against the site server.
- Wit28339-RepairData.sql and execute against the site server. This script will correct problems in upgraded data. Users who have started but not completed the history conversion should allow the process to fully complete before running this script. The script scans all history and can be run multiple times with no adverse effect.
- WIT28339-MixedConversionFix.sql and execute against the site server.
b. For users who have upgraded to 8.4.x and not started converting their history, select the script named "Wit28339-UpdateProcessFix.sql” and execute against the site server.

Description: After performing a CPOnline import, the last order imported is automatically displayed in Ticket Entry and/or Touchscreen Ticket Entry, and clicking on items in the order does not display the item number. Attempting to select other orders does not change the display. This behavior occurs until CounterPoint is closed/re-opened.
