Rewards earned notifications
A set & forget campaign can be a good method to notify your loyal customers that they have reached a reward level and encourage them to come in and redeem their points. We recommend creating an email for each reward level and sending it to a recipient no more often than once every __ days, this will handle a scenario like this:
  • Check points every day.
  • On January 5, 2011 Sally Shopper reaches point reward level 1 since the last time we checked. She has 512 points. Send Sally the reward level 500 email.
  • On March 20, 2011 Sally Shopper reaches point reward level 2 since the last time we checked. She has 1056 points. Send Sally the reward level 1000 email.

IMPORTANT: If you choose to try to deliver actual rewards via email please consider the following issues carefully:
  • If you don’t have a valid email address for a recipient, they will never receive the email reward. Even if you do have a valid email address, there is still a chance the reward may not be delivered. Email boxes can be temporarily disabled by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) at any time, preventing receipt of the email. ISPs discard between 10 – 30% of all email that they process. ISPs may even indicate that they DID accept the email, but then decide NOT to deliver it to the inbox. Train your employees to be prepared to handle the scenarios where the reward cannot be delivered via email, or the email was never received.
  • High value rewards go viral on the internet very quickly. When you offer the reward, be sure to specify that “proof of identity” is required to redeem and make sure that your cashiers know to verify the member before accepting the reward. Campaigns/Step 1:
  • You can decide whether to combine all of your loyalty program emails into a single campaign, or create a new campaign.
Campaigns/Step 2:
  • Create a new email for a reward level (Example: 500 points, 1000 points, etc )
  • Create a compelling subject like: Congratulations. You have earned a new reward.

Create a new segment using either Loyalty Points Earned or Loyalty Points Balance:

  • AND Loyalty Program Is <Name of your program>
  • AND Loyalty Points Earned >= <Number or points for the reward level for this notice>

Loyalty Points Balance Rules:

If you want it to expire fewer days after the email is sent, just change the 30 to another number in the variable that gets placed in your text. For example: Change ##SendDatePlus30## to ##SendDatePlus7##
