Let Madeline George help
~ Outfit your Garden ~

Whether beginning anew or working to refresh, we have just the right selection of plants to fill your garden with Flair!  Outfitting for Sun or Shade (or a dappling of both) is easy with our variety of unique and uncommon plants, all hand picked and able to thrive in the Treasure Valley.

Gardening is the perfect way to show off your Style!  Our dressing room is Outfitted with a new collection of waxed canvas bags (perfect for holding your garden tools), hats, scarves and more.

Finding the right trellis, or pot, furniture or embellishment can truly add life to your patio or garden.  A trellis will lend an assist to any climbing plant, and the right pot can provide any plant a spotlight. Our grounds are sprinkled with a wide variety of styles and colors to build your patio and garden oasis!

Remember to outfit the indoors when showing off your Green Thumb!

Succession Planting
Ever wonder how some people seem to have fresh garden veggies all season?

The answer is Succession Planting.

Succession planting refers to a strategy that allows a gardener to increase their yield by having the same plants in different growth stages.

Planting the same plant a little bit at a time (every week or two) allows for it to mature in stages instead of harvesting too much at once (and being unable to eat/enjoy them all).

Plants like lettuce, carrots, beets, or radishes are perfect for succession planting and can provide fresh salads throughout the season.

GARDENER TIPS:

In the House
As exciting as our warmer temps have been, we are still in the danger zone for Frost (like yesterday's impromptu hail storm). For those of you who overwinter plants or like to take your houseplants outside - you will still need to hold off for a month before the climate is right!

In the Garden
Time to get outside and plant! MG recommended planting technique is to dig your hole twice as wide and the same depth as the plant's container. Check for proper drainage by adding 2 inches of water and ensuring it drains within 30 minutes. Lastly, backfill with a 50/50 mix of soil and compost.

Grab a few friends, pick a day/time, choose a topic (or select from one of ours) and create something gorgeous!

Groups have made custom terrariums, festive centerpieces, seasonal wreaths, succulent containers, some have even come for coaching on seed starters, companion planting, designing containers and forcing bulbs. Or you can create your own!

Costs vary based on the class.  E-mail us at [email protected] or call 208-995-2815 for more information.
